Ways that you can help
We are trying to create a national picture of where GP services are being outsourced. Some work has been done by the BBC TV Panorama programme and Pulse magazine but we need more recent information about NHS changes in your area.- Please write to your local NHS Primary Care Trust or councillor to find out what stage plans for polyclinics or new health centres have reached.
Download template letter - Has there been a consultation?
- What was the result and what is the timetable from here?
- Any reports from your local paper or from groups in your area would also be useful. We will put this altogether to help inform the campaign strategy. Contact us by email at info@nhscampaign.org or at NHS Support Federation, Community Base, 113 Queens Road, Brighton, BN1 3XG
If you can, make a donation to our fund to defend the NHS, which will help us do several important things:
1. build and keep up to date a national picture of exactly how the NHS is being privatised
2. organise media exposure to keep this issue publicly discussed
3. organise legal case challenges involving local people affected by them
We need to raise £60,000 for this crucial campaign. It is an urgent issue so we have made a start, but please lend your support so that we can continue.

Our legal advisers have pinpointed three ways to challenge the transfer of NHS services to the private sector and they have already had success in the courts in stopping outsourcing. These legal challenges will help to establish important precedents that can stop or delay other privatisation efforts throughout the NHS.
By combining legal and campaign work we can really raise the pressure on the government to rethink. With your support we have helped create and support a nationwide network of 25 local health campaign groups, which is a great start in getting NHS staff and the public involved. With your support we can build on this.
It is crucial to mount a defence of the NHS as it is being taken over by commercial interests who will inevitably put their shareholders before patients. Your help and support is very much appreciated. Without the commitment of our supporters we would not be able to do this crucial work, so thank you.
