Joint Statement by the Supporting Partners

The Government is pushing ahead with unpopular, non-mandated and damaging changes to our NHS, yet we will continue to campaign for the restoration of its core principles. We, the undersigned are committed to working together to reclaim a publicly provided, funded and accountable NHS, that continues to deliver comprehensive care to all in our society. We are certain that the break up of NHS services and the undeniable process of NHS privatisation will worsen the healthcare available to patients. Longer waits, unfairness in terms of access, more people paying for care themselves and greater waste of precious public funds will all result unless the government change course. The pressure on services is already evident in widespread cuts and staff redundancies. Our NHS is a national resource providing huge benefit right across our community and as a community we are coming together to support and protect it.
